01. Overview

Skyhunter is an app that helps falcon owners monitor their birds' well-being. Using a smart scale perch, real-time data from aviaries syncs to the app, allowing owners to check their falcons' weight and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and air pressure) from anywhere. Since falconry is an expensive hobby, owners value this feature to ensure their birds’ health even when they’re away. The app also has AI support to send notifications when a falcon is ready to lay an egg by analyzing weight data measurements.

02. Challenge

The main challenge was understanding user needs. I connected with experienced falconry caretakers to map out their requirements and ensure the app met owners' expectations.

03. Design Process

The project started with an onboarding process to define goals and key features. I created low-fidelity wireframes for feedback and then developed high-fidelity designs with images, colors, and content. After approval, I collaborated with the development team to ensure accurate implementation and rigorous testing.

To appeal to the wealthy niche market, we designed a premium presentation for the scale, working with a leather artist to create a special holder. The final package includes the scale, bag, marketing website, and app.

04. Results

Through research, planning, and teamwork, I designed an app tailored to this niche market, providing a seamless experience for falcon owners.

The UI was redesigned in 2025.
